Norway, waterfalls, Bergen (part 3)

As we traveled towards the north, we saw several waterfalls along the way. First, Svandalsfossen near the town Sauda.
Midva sva potovala naprej proti severu in si tokrat ob poti ogledala več slapov. Najprej Svandalsfossen v bližini kraja Sauda.

The next stop was near the 165 m high waterfall Låtefossen, which is a well-known tourist attraction in that area. Later we observed orchards and greenhouses along the road. They cultivate cherries, pears and apples.
Kasneje ob poti opazujeva sadovnjake in rastlinjake. Tu uspevajo češnje, hruške in jabolka.
We avoided the main road and rather went up to the panoramic road (59.72700, 6.58260) and also spent the night in the vicinity. Surrounded by little red houses, streams, lakes, we slept in the magic place.
The next day we continued towards the city of Bergen. In the meantime, we also visited the 50 m high Steinsdalsfossen waterfall. From the parking lot, you can walk to the waterfall and behind it, listen to the rumbling water and observe the huge amount of water falling into the valley.

Due to its location, Bergen is known as the rainiest city in Europe. During our visit it was nice and sunny. We parked near the old town and walked to the fish market and the old town Bryggen. Some of the houses are currently being renovated. Bergen is a town with rich history, over the years some fires destroyed the wooden houses. Today wooden houses in the old part of the city  are mostly changed to shops selling souvenirs, socks, hats, sweaters, toys, and small cute trolls.
Nekatere hiše so trenutno v fazi obnavljanja.
Trolls are supernatural creatures that originate from Nordic mythology. They live in forests, near lakes, fjords and waterfalls. As daylight turns them to stone, so they wander around at night. They are a little chubby, not very beautiful creatures with big noses. Aren’t they cute?
Troli so nadnaravna bitja in izvirajo iz norveške mitologije. Živijo v gozdovih, v bližini jezerc, fjordov in slapov. Ker jih dnevna svetloba spremeni v kamen, se naokoli potepajo ponoči. So malo malo debelušna, ne ravno lepa bitja z velikimi nosovi. A niso luštni?

  2. Spectacular waterfalls - something we don't have where I live! Your description of a troll though - "chubby, not very beautiful creatures with big noses" - sounds just like me!
