Lago Federa

Under the Croda da Lago mountain range, which is in the vicinity of Cortina d'Ampezzo, is a beautiful Lake Federa. In September the lake was green and the trees were green. There are many larch trees around there, they turn yellow in October, so the view of them, the mountains and the lake are probably even more spectacular at that time. They were still green in mid-September, but the views were amazing anyway.

V bližini Cortine d'Ampezzo se nahaja prekrasno jezero Federa, ki ježi pod gorsko verigo Croda da Lago. Sredi septembra so bila drevesa zelena in jezero tudi. Tod okoli veliko macesnov, ki oktobra postanejo rumeni in takrat je verjetno pogled nanje, na gore in jezero še bolj spektakularen. V sredini septembra pa smo še vedno uživali v zeleni pokrajini.

The starting point for the hike is near the mountain pass Passo Giau. The lake can be reached by choosing route no. 437, which runs through the forest at first. After crossing the stream, we come to a small clearing, where we continue along route 434 and after about an hour's walk, we can see Lake Federa, which lies under a mighty mountain. The lake offers wonderful views, walking around it is highly recommended, as well as stopping at the cottage. 

Izhodišče za pohod se nahaja pri prelazu Giau. Izbrati je potrebno pot št. 437, ki poteka po gozdu. Po prečkanju potoka pridemo na manjšo jaso, kjer nadaljujemo po poti 434 in po kakšni uri hoje dosežemo jezero Federa, ki leži pod mogočno goro. Jezero ponuja čudovite razglede, splača se ga obkrožiti, lahko se tudi ustavimo pri koči.

Most hikers return by the same route to the starting point. If we continue to the Forcella Ambrizola pass, we can enjoy a view of the lake and the towns in the valley.

Večina pohodnikov se vrne po isti poti na izhodišče. Če pa pot nadaljujemo do prehoda Forcella Ambrizola, smo nagrajeni z razgledom na jezero in kraje v dolini.

Many marmot hiding places can be seen on the grassy slope. Little friends are very curious and they can be seen the evenings.

Na travnatem pobočju je opaziti veliko skrivališč svizcev, iz katerih so proti večeru pokukali ti mali radovedni prijatelji.

Passo Giau is always beautiful, and the evenings between the hills are special.
