z družbo v hribe / a hiking buddy
Above a town Bovec rises the hill Svinjak, which isn't a giant hill (1653 m), but the path to the top is quite strenuous. The starting point is in Kal Koritnica and after a three-hour ascent over a steep slope we reach the top (altitude difference 1193 m). We started to walk at the parking place and continued to the open-air museum Čelo. There we could walk among the caves and remnants of the First World War and already enjoyed the view of the valley. Then we walked through the woods and lately over a rocky area. The path climbs more and more steeply, towards the end there are also some safety steel cables. At the top we had a magnificent view of the Soča Valley and the surrounding mountains.
Včasih imam občutek, da me noge kar same nesejo v hribe.
Sometimes I have the feeling that my feet are simply carrying me to the mountain peaks. Yesterday, I didn't feel that way. My legs were heavy, and I was wondering why I didn't rather stay at home, maybe watch TV, rest a bit, drink coffee, chat about this and that… Then we met a nice goat in the woods who went with us all the way to the top, along the way she ate leaves from the bushes and elegantly jumped over the rocks. She was in a very good mood and enjoyed a sunny day. If I'm honest, a trip with such pleasant company really shouldn’t be missed. We can rest another day.
What great company on the mountain! You are a great hiker to have conquered that mountain! You could teach the goat a few things I suspect.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fairytale mountains. I suppose that walking with a goat would make anyone feel a bit sluggish in comparison.
ReplyDeleteWhat an accomplishment, Margi, and I totally agree with John, “Beautiful fairytale mountains. Your hike is so beautiful, tantastic, inspiring and encouraging. Thanks for sharing.

Margi - my goodness, those are steep mountains! How pleasant to have a goat for company! It makes me think of the story of Heidi! And yes, rest can wait until we are OLD!
