Home hills are always beautiful and special and most importantly very close. In the morning, you don't have to drive long to get to the starting point, which is a significant advantage. Although I have hiked along and over the Krn mountain range many times, there is always something new and undiscovered there. This time we went from the Kuhinja mountain pasture towards the Krn peak, before we reached the peak, we went towards Batognica, and then headed towards the Razor mountain. Soon we reached the path that leads to Vrh nad Peski. The last part of the trail is across the scree slope and is quite steep, so a little caution is needed. At the top is a miniature Aljaž tower. However, the views are wonderful. If you look closely at the picture, in the distance is Lake Luznica, hidden between the mountains.

Domači hribi so zmeraj lepi in posebni in predvsem čisto blizu. Zjutraj se ni treba dolgo voziti z avtom, da prideš do izhodišča, kar mi je zelo všeč. Čeprav sem se po Krnskem pogorju že velikokrat potepala, se vedno najde nekaj novega. Tokrat sva šla iz planine Kuhinja proti vrhu Krna, pred ciljem sva šla proti Batognici, nato pa se usmerila proti planini Razor. Kmalu sva prišla na pot, ki vodi na Vrh nad Peske. Zadnji del poti poteka po melišču in je precej strm, zato zahteva malo previdnosti. Na vrhu je miniaturen Aljažev stolp. Razgledi pa so čudoviti. Če natančno pogledate sliko, je v daljavi Jezero v Lužnici, skrito med gorami.

From the peak you can see all the way to the sea. In good weather, even ships can be seen, they look like tiny lines in the picture.

Vidi se čisto vse do morja. Ob lepem vremenu je opaziti celo ladje, na sliki so videti kot drobne črtice.

In the opposite direction is Mount Triglav, its summit is already covered with snow.
V nasprotni smeri je Triglav, ki je na vrhi že pokrit s snegom.

Nearby is the Peski, a monument from the First World War. We descended there later, crossing the sandy slopes.

Blizu je spomenik na Peskih iz prve svetovne vojne, do katerega sva se kasneje po peščenih pobočjih spustila.

Finally, we returned towards the parking lot, passing the Lake in Luznica. There were quite a few hikers near the lake, but we were all alone on the Vrh nad Peski.

Proti parkirišču sva se vrnila mimo Jezera v Lužnici. Tu je bilo kar precej pohodnikov, na Vrhu pa sva bila čisto sama.

Some statistics. The ascent took a little over three hours, we overcame 1185 m altitude. There were many beautiful views, too many to count.

Pa še malo statistike. Vzpon traja malo več kot tri ure, prehodila sva 1185 m nadmorske višine. Lepih razgledov je ogromno, preveč, da bi jih štela.
