Načrtovala sva, da bova drugi del dopusta preživela med hribi. V Provansi je bilo precej toplo in tudi naporno. Pogrešala sva sveži gorki zrak. Med potjo do Chaminix-a sva naredila še ovinek in se ustavila v krajo Hauterives, tu je namreč Le Palais Ideal.

Palača gotovo nekaj čisto posebnega. Še bolj mi je všeč zgodba o njenem nastanku. Palačo je kar 33 let gradil poštar Ferdinand Cheval, ki je vsak dan nabiral kamne zanjo in jo gradil pozno v noč. Ideje je dobival iz kartic, ki jih je raznašal med svojih delom. Mislim, da je zgodba o gradnji zgodba o ljubezni, bolečini in predanosti, nekaj čisto posebnega.

We planned to spend the second part of our vacation among the hills. It was hot in Provence and we were exhausted and we missed the fresh air. On the way to Chamonix, we made another detour and stopped in Hauterives, to visit Le Palais Ideal.

The palace is something quite special. I love the story of its construction. The postman Ferdinand Cheval was building the palace for 33 years by collecting stones every day and building it late into the night. He got his ideas from the postcards he distributed during his work. I think the story of the construction of a palace is a story of love, pain and devotion, something quite special and unique.
