vrt v oktobru / our garden in October 2020
Prejšnjo pomlad sem prvič posadila nekaj buč Lunga di Napoli. Buče so zelene in dolge približno 80 cm.
Last spring
I have planted squash Lunga di Napoli for the first time. The squash is green
and about 80 cm long. Lunga di Napoli squash is popular in Italy, specifically in the southern regions. It likes hot
summers, but it has grown in our garden this year, although the summer
temperatures weren’t so high. It’s eatable so I’m looking for recipes.
In the previous years we have had some orange pumpkins for Halloween decoration. Now, my kids are almost grown up and pumping carving isn't interesting for them any longer.
Zaradi
deževnega oktobra je na vrtu le še nekaj cvetov. Ta mesec sem posadila čebulice
tulipanov in narcis.
Only a few flowers are still blooming due to rainy month. I planted tulip and daffodil bulbs for the spring season.Rdeči radič in por zgledata čudovito. Sploh se ne zavedamo, kakšen privilegij je to, da lahko sredi zime jemo svežo zelenjavo.
The red radicchio and leek look beautiful. It's a privilege to eat fresh vegetables during the winter.
Solata raste v rastlinjaku.
The salad is growing in our green house.
Listi asimine so se obarvali rumeno, figa pa počasi izgublja liste.
The asimina leaves are turning to yellow and fig tree is loosing leaves.Tik pred prvo slano bomo pobrali kivi.
Just before the first frost we are going to harvest kiwi fruits.

Our cat enjoys the autumn sun.

I'm envious of your greenhouse! My growing salad days are over for this year boo hoo, one day I dream of home grown lettuce, herbs and tomatoes all winter long! :) Great job growing the squash too!
ReplyDeleteIt seems to me you have a green thumb, from vegetables to flowers to fruit. That's a lot of kiwi! Thanks for sharing your harvest with everyone at Mosaic Monday!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful garden. Thanks for sharing. Sylvia D.
ReplyDeleteI love your greenhouse. The flavor of fresh picked winter vegetables are worth a million dollars...which I don't have. But, I do have a backyard full of soil that I can use for planting.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen or eaten a freshly picked kiwi, yours looks great and inspires me to rethink getting one.
Everything looks lovely.
