po Sloveniji / around Slovenia, Kolpa river

Mož in sin sta imela dovolj kolesarjenja in hoje, rada bi še plavala. Kampi so bili čisto zasedeni in komaj smo našli prazen kotiček, verjetno zaradi tega, ker je Kolpa ena najtoplejših in najbolj neokrnjenih rek v Sloveniji.

My husband and son found out that there was enough cycling and walking, we had to swim as well. There can be no holiday without swimming. As soon as we arrived to Kolpa, our border river with Croatia, we were surprised. The campsites were overcrowded and we hardly managed to find an empty space. The reason for this is in the fact that Kolpa is one of the warmest and still intact rivers in Slovenia. I took some pictures of the river Kolpa early in the morning or late in the evening, when there were only little swimmers by the river.

izvir Krupe / the source of the Krupa river

Zjutraj smo biciklirali do izvira Krupe.

One early morning we cycled to the source of Krupa river. It comes to the surface under a 20 m high rock wall. We were there early in the morning and were totally surprised by this mystical place. Fog was lifting above the water. My husband said that the scene reminded him of films with monsters. Was that a joke? It reminded me of films with a good fairy who fulfills our wishes. Just look at the pictures, I’m right.
