po Sloveniji, medvedje in izginjajoča jezera / around Slovenia, bears and disappearing lakes
Slovenia is a country rich in forests. Over 60% of its area is covered with forests and it is also a habitat of brown bear. Kočevska and Notranjska regions are their homeland. The news about bears who visited the small villages is quite common here. We didn’t meet a single bear, even though we drove along the forest road. But we had luck at Bloke lake, where we saw a bear fishing in the lake😊 .
Intermittent lakes are very interesting phenomena: in the rainy period the lake appears and it disappears in the drought time of the year. Cerknica lake is one of the largest intermittent lakes in Europe. In this time of the year it should be dried out, but thanks to rainy summer there is still a little lake.
Medveda res nismo videli, tale žaba pa nam je pozirala.
We didn’t see a bear, but a frog posed for
the camera.
Slovenia is a beautiful and green country. In my opinion the most beautiful parts are Alps and Soča valley, where we live.
