In the garden, zinnias, chrysanthemums, and the last dahlias are in bloom. They’ll last until the first frost, when it will be time to dig up the tubers. I think the red chrysanthemum and the white gaura make a lovely pair.
Na vrtu cvetijo cinije, krizanteme in zadnje dalije, te bodo zdržale še do prve slane, nato bo potrebno izkopati gomolje. Meni se zdita rdeča krizantema in bela gavra čudovit par.
I’ve picked the last of the peppers and beans, and now the garden will be taken over by winter vegetables. The winter lettuces and radicchios, along with the kale, cabbage, and turnips, are growing bigger every day.
Pobrala sem zadnje paprike, zadnji fižol, vrt pa bo napolnila zimska zelenjava. Zimske solate in radiči, ohrovt, zelje in repa so vsak dan večji.
These are our pumpkins for this year. The green Lunga di Napoli variety has vibrant orange flesh and very few seeds. We’ve grown it several times before. It keeps well in a cool place until mid-January. We most often use it to make pumpkin soup.
Tole so naše letošnje buče. Zelena Lunga di Napoli ima živo oranžno sredico in res malo semen. Gojili smo jo že večkrat. Na hladnem prostoru zdrži do polovice januarja. Mi iz nje največkrat pripravimo bučno juho.
October has painted the garden in shades of gold and red. In the sunshine, the autumn leaves look truly beautiful.
Oktober je na vrt prinesel zlato rumene in rdeče barve. V sončnem vremenu je jesensko listje čudovito.
During a walk in the forest, we gathered some rose hips to make tea from in the winter. Along the way, we soaked up the fresh air, lifted our spirits, and found that serenity you can only experience in nature.
Med sprehodom po gozdu smo nabrali tudi nekaj šipka, iz katerega bomo pozimi lahko skuhali čaj. Zraven pa dobili še svež zrak, dobro voljo in tisto spokojnost, ki jo lahko najdeš le v naravi.
