into the home hills, to Tolminski Kuk

After a long time, we finally got out to the home hills last weekend, specifically, we hiked up Tolminski Kuk. We started from the village of Tolminske Ravne. As we made our way up through the forest, thick fog was hanging low in the valley. The Kal pasture was barely visible. We thought about turning back, but decided to keep going—and eventually, we broke through the fog. Up there, it was warm and sunny, and the hilltops were bathed in sunlight. Below us, the valley was covered in a sea of white mist, while we enjoyed a stunning view over the sea of fog.

Just a few days ago, there had been snow here, but with the warmer weather, only patches of white remained. The autumn colors were all around, calm and mellow. The beeches had turned a golden brown. In summer, there are loads of flowers here, but now only a few stubborn ones are still blooming.
Pred nekaj dnevi je bil tu sneg. Zaradi toplega vremena so ostale le še bele zaplete. Povsod so bile umirjene jesenske barve. Bukve so postale rumeni rjave. Poleti tu cveti ogromno rožic, sedaj pa le še redke.
It takes about four hours to get to the top, climbing roughly 1,200 meters. In the end, we were glad we pushed on to the top, into the sunshine.
