holidays in Sweden, blueberries, reindeer, sauna, and campfire (part 3)

As we moved north through the interior of the country, the settlements became more sparse, and the landscape wilder and even more beautiful. Sweden has well-maintained roads, which are very wide. The less important ones are gravel roads, but they are very solid and have wide roadbeds. So, we continued our journey north across a high plateau, where it was slightly cooler, and the landscape became incredible. Among the red blueberry bushes, we picked blueberries and marveled at how beautiful it was here. Soon, we were able to spot reindeer again.

Ko sva se po notranjosti države pomikala proti severu, so postala naselja redkejša, pokrajina pa bolj divja in še lepša. Švedska ima sicer dobro urejene ceste, ki so zelo široke. Manj pomembne so makadamske, vendar gre za zelo utrjen makadam in široko cestišče. Torej, pot proti severu sva nadaljevala čez višje ležečo planoto, kjer je bilo nekoliko bolj hladno, pokrajina pa je postana neverjetna. Med rdečim borovničevjem sva nabirala borovnice in se čudila, kako je tu lepo. Kmalu sva lahko spet opazovala severne jelene.

Nature hikes are best concluded with an evening in the sauna.

The starting point for the next hike was the parking lot next to the ski resort in the village of Klimpfjäll. The trail, called Trollstigen, ran along the river, where little trolls could be found. On a pleasantly warm autumn day, we walked all the way to the lake and then returned through the forest to the starting point.

Izhodišče za naslednji pohod je bilo parkirišče zraven smučišča v vasi Klimpfjäll. Pot, ki se je imenovala Trollstigen je potekala ob reki, ob njej pa so se nahajali škratje. Midva sva v prijetno toplem jesenskem dnevu hodila vse do jezera in se nato po gozdu vrnila na izhodišče.

You can see these rapids right next to the road in the Vilhelmina district. In the picture, it all looks small, but in reality, it is a huge river flowing over rocks.

Te brzice lahko vidite čisto zraven ceste v okrožju Vilhelmina. Na sliki je sicer videti vse skupaj majhno, v resnici pa je to ogromna reka, ki teče preko skal.

I simply love those evenings. We usually only cooked lunch or dinner in the evening, as we never had time during the day. But we always had dinner with stunning views and in good company.

Večeri na najinem potepanju so mi bili res všeč. Midva sva navadno šele zvečer kuhala kosilo ali večerjo, saj čez dan nikoli nisva utegnila. Ampak vedno sva imela večerjo s čudovitimi razgledi in v dobri družbi.

The hike along the Gimegolts Canyon took about two hours. The trail leads above the canyon to a bivouac and a lake.

Pohod ob kanjonu Gimegolts je trajal približno dve uri. Pot vodi nad kanjonom do bivaka in jezera.

Such scenes are quite common on Swedish roads.
