Orrido dello Slizza gorge / soteska Male Ziljice

The beautiful Ziljica / Slizza gorge is located right next to the town of Tarvisio. We were around there many times, but we never heard of it until now. It is beautiful, small, easily accessed with well maintained trails and there were not too many tourists. We parked in Tarvisio on Via Bamberga next to the bike path that runs along the old railway line. The path is circular and can be walked in any direction. We first went down the stairs and reached the small beach. The water was fresh and cold. The wooden path leads through the gorge, where you can admire rocks, pools, caves, river rapids, bridges... There is always something new just around the corner. Green-blue water flows through the narrow gorge and everything is so magically green.

Slikovita soteska Male Ziljice se nahaja čisto zraven mesta Trbiža. Mimo smo se peljali že velikokrat, ampak zanjo sploh nisva vedela. Pa je zelo lepa, lahko dostopna z lepo urejenimi potmi in tudi turistov ni preveč. Midva sva parkirala v Trbižu na ulici Via Bamberga zraven kolesarke steze, ki poteka po stari železniški progi. Pot je krožna in jo lahko prehodimo v katerikoli smeri. Midva sva se najprej spustila po stopnicah in prišla do manjše plaže. Pri vodi je sveže in hladno. Urejena pot nato vodi skozi sotesko, kjer lahko občudujemo skale, tolmune, jame, brzice, mostove.. na vsakem koraku je nekaj novega. Zeleno modro voda se vije skozi sotesko, pa vse je tako čarobno zeleno.

We finished the walk at the bridge with the bicycle path. The visit to the gorge lasted about an hour, maybe an hour and a half, so we spent the rest of the afternoon near Laghi di Fusine / Belopeška Lakes. At this time, there are many ducklings around the lakes and I think they are in love. Actually, they weren’t bothered by the walkers at all.

Pot sva zaključila pri mostu, po katerem poteka kolesarska steza. Ker sva za celo pot porabila kakšno uro, mogoče uro in pol, sva šla še do bližnjih Belopeških jezer. V tem času je okoli jezer veliko račk. Mislim, da so zaljubljene. Sprehajalci jih čisto nič ne motijo.
