lučke / Christmas lights

Mrzel teden je za nami, snežilo je, in deževalo in nekaj vmes. Ceste so spolzke in nebo je sivo. Kljub vremenu so v mestih že prižgali lučke in stopili smo v praznični čas.
Imam tri odrasle otoke, z njimi je vedno lepo.

We had a cold week. It was snowing and raining and something in between, the roads were slippery, and the sky was dark grey. Nevertheless, the cities and towns have already arranged Christmas decorations and the Christmas lights indicate festive atmosphere.

Last Saturday we were in Ljubljana visiting our daughter, a student, and our son, who had just finished university study and has recently started his first job. We were walking around the city centre and observing the Christmas decorations. The place was quite crowded despite the fact that covid is still among us. But that wasn't my concern at that time, I remembered my student years, in the same town, about little less than thirty years ago. In my opinion, the city didn't change much except the Christmas lighting is more luxurious. What about me? Thirty years ago, I was probably wondering what my life would be like. Well, now, we have three grown up kids and it turned out really good, so I'm happy about that.

Odlični so, še posebno, če imate radi čokolado.
My daughter is always kidding me and suggests that I should change my goals and instead of mountaineering I should engage in cooking and baking. December is the most appropriate time for making cookies, so why not. Here are my cracked chocolate cookies, the recipe can be easily found on the internet. They are delicious, especially if you like chocolate.
Ta teden sem končala obleko za mojo steklenico za čaj. Ta ostane topel par ur. Poleg tega sem tako porabila nekaj ostankov volne.
I've finished knitting the clothing for my tea bottle. It helps to keep the tea warm for a few hours and it’s also a good way to use yarn leftover.
Želim vam lep december...
Wishing you a wonderful December…

  1. It looks like winter is settling in there. Your version of a tea cozy is a great way to use yarn. Some of that tea would be delicious with those cookies I bet.

  4. Good morning Margi,

The Christmas lights are fabulous in Ljubljana. It is fortunate that looking back on’s life one can be content and happy. I am that too. I don’t bake, but my daughter-in-law does. I think that we all must cherish our own interests :) But your chocolate cookies do look delicious, good that you stepped out of the box :D
